Art Of History "Yantra" Power
A Sanskrit word whose root meaning is "to sustain", a Yantra is a geometric design used to fix one's concentration upon during meditation, as practiced by followers of the Hindu religion.
Each component of each Yantra, right down to a single dot, has specific and significant meaning - none of which Yours Truly, apologetically, is qualified to expound upon. Components include geometric shapes, colors, symbols and a fair amount of complex numeric construction. Here is an example of the Sri (or "Shri") Yantra, which is of greatest general use.
All that can be positively stated here is that some Yantras are truly lovely to this uneducated eye. Absolutely glorious designs, and well worth further investigation...someday.
