YANTRA (A Mystical Symbolic Language)
A Yantra is the actual visual formation and concretization of the mantra (sound vibration)
through a two-dimensional or three-dimensional representation. For example, we know that as
sound travels through various mediums like, air, water, or solid matter it causes a distortion of the
sound waves and makes an impression on the object of penetration. The result of this distortion is
the creation of a distinct visual pattern that can readily been seen and repeatedly duplicated.
In fact, all sound waves have exact ‘signatures,’ or wave patterns that are similar to our own
genetic structures (DNA/RNA) or the mark of a human finger-print. In addition, these patterns are
represented in the hexagrams in the I-Ching and other divination tools. The intricate patterns that
are formed, through manifesting sound vibrations, can be measured, drawn, or reconstructed into
their two-dimensional or three-dimensional spatial relationships through what is called a Yantra.
The ability to represent sound waves in two-dimensional or third-dimensional space can be
displayed through the mediums of art, music, or therapeutic touch. The result of such a process is
the act of being able to actually capture the ‘soul’ or essence of the mantra/hekau. www.dhyansanjivani.org
